# Search articles

Find a Help Center article by a word or a phrase from any page.

The search looks through every article in the language of the page you are on. Use it when you know what you want to do but not where the article sits.

1. **Open the search**

On the home page, select the **Search articles** field. On any other page, select the search button at the top, or press `⌘` + `K` on a Mac and `Ctrl` + `K` on other computers.
2. **Type a word or a phrase**

Results appear as you type. Each one shows the article's group, its title and a short excerpt with your words marked. Up to two matching sections of an article appear below it.
3. **Open a result**

Select a result, or move through the list with `↑` and `↓` and press `Enter`. Press `Esc` to close the search.

## Example

Julia plans tours for Orion Industries in Paris and wants to know when an order counts as complete. She presses `Ctrl` + `K`, types "order status", and opens the **Orders** article from the first result.

**Q: Does the search include the German articles?**

It searches the language of the page you are on. Switch the language first to search the other one.

**Q: What if nothing matches?**

The search says that no article matches. Try a shorter word, or the name of the screen or button you see in Orbit.

**Q: How many results does the search show?**

Up to eight articles, each with up to two of its sections.
